Kinabalu Park & Poring Hot Springs


 
Itinerary: Day1 - Mt Kinabalu Climb ↑

0730hrs Depart from the lobby. Drive along the ridges of the Crocker Range to the Kinabalu Park, the first World Heritage Site of Malaysia. Mount Kinabalu, at an elevation of 4092m, is the highest mountain in southeast Asia, and dominates the surrounding countryside.

Upon arrival at Park Headquarters, register for the climb and meet your mountain guide. Drive 4.5km to Timpohon Gate where the trek begins. Trek to Laban Rata Resthouse (or similar mountain accommodation), checkin and overnight. (packed lunch, dinner)

Day2 - Mt Kinabalu Climb ↓

0230hrs Pre-dawn departure for the attempt to the summit of Low’s Peak.

Return to the Resthouse for breakfast, then descend to Timpohon Gate, and transfer to Park Headquarters.

Rest and lunch before returning to Kota Kinabalu. (breakfast, lunch)

What to bring: Good trekking shoes, raincoat, hat, sunblock, flashlight or headlamp, warm clothing (temperatures at the summit may fall to 0*C or below), bottle of water, plastic bags to protect cameras/video etc., personal toiletries.

Please note:
Pack essential items in a small rucksack. Larger bags/backpacks can be stored at the Park Headquarters for a fee of RM6 per piece.
A Porter can be hired at RM80, carrying 10 kg.
